Thank you for a great year in 2015! With your help, we made great progress in 2015 in building a grassroots movement in the Rogue Valley and beyond for climate action and a faster transition to cleaner energy and energy efficiency. I’m writing to ask for your support to expand on that work in 2016.
This year was a big year. In 2015 Rogue Climate supporters helped to…
- Launch local clean energy and climate action teams in Talent and Ashland as a step toward creating specific action plans in each community in the region.
- Organize a statewide LNG movement that has slowed the state’s rush to rubberstamp fracked gas export terminals and pipelines.
- Expand our program to develop the next generation of climate activists through workshops, a camp, internships, and opportunities to practice leadership skills.
- Organize new community art projects to engage volunteers and build awareness.
Be sure to check out our favorite photos and highlights from the year in our new Facebook album. We plan to expand on all of these initiatives in 2016 – and to do that we need not only your time and energy but also whatever donation you can afford.
Our youth-led, solution-oriented grassroots organizing has been recognized as an important model by several funders, including Patagonia’s environmental grants program and the MRG Foundation, which chose Rogue Climate as one of just ten organizations to receive special capacity building grants for the next three years.
But grants like those cover only a small percentage of our budget needs. Can you pledge between $5- $10 a month to Rogue Climate? Or, if you can afford it, can you make a larger contribution to support this work?
We run a lean operation and make every penny count. Thank you for your continued support. If you would like to speak by phone, feel free to call me any time at 541-840-1065.
