Join Rogue Climate and the No LNG Exports Campaign for a FREE community screening of First Daughter and the Black Snake.
After the screening, there will be updates about the campaign to stop Jordan Cove LNG, and an opportunity to take action on the most recent open comment period on Jordan Cove LNG and how it would impact Oregon’s coastal zone (The Coastal Zone Management Act comment period).
The film follows indigenous activist Winona LaDuke as she decides to fight Enbridge and launches an annual spiritual horse ride along the proposed Enbridge pipeline route. She speaks at community meetings and regulatory hearings, and testifies about how the Enbridge pipeline route follows one of historical and present-day traumas. The tribe participates in the pipeline permitting process, asserting their treaty rights to protect their natural resources. Winona joins with her tribe and others to demand that the pipelines’ impact on tribal people’s resources be considered in the permitting process.
