On Tuesday, January 7th the Coos Bay City Council will vote on Jordan Cove LNG’s application to dredge in protected parts of our bay to make way for their massive explosive gas tankers.
Before the City Council meeting community members will gather in front of the Coos Bay City Hall at 5:30PM for a rally with local speakers to protect the bay.

When: Tuesday, January 7. Rally at 5:30PM. City Council meeting starts at 7:00PM.
Where: Coos Bay City Hall (500 Central Avenue, Coos Bay)
Make sure to wear red to show your opposition to Jordan Cove LNG.
The City of Coos Bay hired the Lane Council of Governments (LCOG) to be a neutral party to review Pembina’s application and the dozens of community testimonies submitted to the city. After months of considering the facts, LCOG has recommended that Coos Bay denies Pembina’s application because:
- The project is not in the public interest.
- There is no proven public need for the project.
- The project would adversely impact the fishing and recreation industry that our community relies on (read more here.)
This is a critical moment for our community to show up and show demand our leaders that we support them in doing what's best for the health and safety of our community, our bay, and our local economy by denying this permit. If you can make it on January 7, please be there.
