Clean Energy Day a Success

Clean Energy Day: a big success

Despite rain, wind, and the occasional sun burst to dry us off, our own clean energy SUN lit up the event all afternoon!

For those that missed it, Rogue Climate put together a rocking' celebration of clean energy yesterday in Medford, Oregon. Over 800 people from the Rogue Valley made posters and over 300 people attended to rock out to local bands, sip on local brews, learn about local clean energy businesses, and participate in a 100 foot-wide art piece to make the statement that we are ready for local, cleaner energy. Did we mention it was completely powered by bikes? Check out the slideshow to get a taste of the day and like us on Facebook to see more photos.

Special thanks to our speakers state legislator Dr. Alan Bates and Eric Hansen from True South Solar; local musicians the Micah McCaw Trio and The Seaons; as well as all the volunteers that made this day happen - especially Sophia Borgias, Diana Hartel, and Christine Haynie for designing the sun and organizing the exhibitors.

To keep the momentum rolling and keep informed of what's next, like us on Facebook, follow our Instagram, and sign up to volunteer.  Stay tuned for our next monthly meeting to help your voice - and that of the Rogue Valley - be heard.

Together we can transition the Rogue Valley to a cleaner energy future! Help us by encouraging public officials, businesses, and community groups to develop a coordinated local plan to speed our transition to cleaner energy and greater energy efficiency.
