ABOUT ROGUE CLIMATE TALENT

Talent residents are coming together to:

  • Make it easier for residents, businesses, schools, and city government to save energy and to use solar power and other forms of cleaner energy.
  • Create local jobs making buildings more energy efficient and installing cleaner energy systems.
  • Use water wisely as climate change reduces average snowpack in our mountains.
  • Encourage local food sources and community gardens.
  • Improve transportation systems and take other steps to improve quality of life in Talent.

GET INVOLVED 

Rogue Climate Talent meets on the Second Thursday of the month at the NEW Talent Community Center at 104 E. Main Street in Talent from 6:00pm - 7:30pm.  All are welcome, including children. Please please let us know ahead of time if you are bringing kids so we can have some games and art supplies available. 

There are four teams in Talent that are working on bringing more clean energy and greater energy efficiency to Talent.  The four teams are: 

  • Clean Energy Team
  • Energy Generation Team 
  • Energy Savers Team
  • Communications and Outreach Team.

TALENT CLEAN ENERGY AND CLIMATE ACTION PLAN 

In 2016, community members came together to draft a clean energy action plan for Talent.  The city council and city staff is now reviewing the one year plan, and will be voting on it iearly 2017. . Please send your comments to Talent@rogueclimate.org.

NEW CLEAN ENERGY INITIATIVES IN TALENT 

Check out the new initiatives that Rogue Climate Talent and partners are launching to help more people get solar and install energy efficient heating systems: 

SEEDS for the SOL is a neighbor-to-neighbor program that pairs residents who need funding for solar with residents who can provide zero interest loans and take advantage of tax credits. Mark your calendars for the launch on Feb. 9. 

ENERGIZE ROGUE is a group purchase of ‘ductless heat pumps’ to help folks in the Rogue Valley save energy and money on heating and cooling. Mark your calendars for the launch on Feb. 16.
